Architecture

History of Samshvilde
After the appearance of Kartli, the ancient village became the center of Saeristavo, according to another Samshvilde. He is mentioned at the time of Alexander the Great's attack on Georgia.
In the VIII-IX centuries it was under the rule of the Tbilisi emirates. At the beginning of the tenth century, the ruler Gurgen tried to return the Samshvilde Complex to his homeland, but without success. At the end of the same century, the fortress became the capital of Tashir-Dzoraget.

In 1110 David liberated the fortress from the Turks. After the defeat of Orbea, it became part of Georgia.
In 1440, Jahan Shah was able to take the complex by deception and threats.
In 1747, a great battle took place on the territory of Samshvilde between Irakli and Abdullah Bek.
