The Armazi fortress was built in the 13th century. Once a strategically important object, the Armazi fortress was built on the road, now it is a monument of Georgian architecture.
In the old days, the Armazi fortress was built for the purpose of observing the road. At the moment, several towers and a fence have been preserved, otherwise the fortress is badly damaged. Despite this, it can be attributed to the sights of Georgia
The Armazi Fortress is a monument located in the gorge of the Armaziskhevi River, on one of the highest mountains of Georgia, built around the XIII-XV centuries. Today, the fortress is one of the most beautiful places in Georgia and the main attraction.
Once the fortress blocked the road that connected Georgia with other Caucasian countries.
The monument consists of several buildings - towers and a fence surrounding the fortress. The main building material is crushed stone. To date, the fortress has been severely destroyed, but tourists continue to come and enjoy the surrounding nature of the fortress.
In the southern part of the ancient monument is the main Tower, it has the shape of a triangle with rounded corners. It will not be possible to enter the tower itself, the floors between the first and second floors collapsed, blocking the stairs. Only the southern wall remained from the third floor, and it was possible to determine from the footprints that the entrance was from the southeast.
Location.
In the area where the Armazi fortress is located, you can see other sights of Georgia, which are also monuments.
There are two buildings in the valley of the river: the Monastery of the Mother of God and the Castle of Armazi. At the confluence of the rivers there is a monument - Armaziskhevi, currently the monument is a field museum. In the east stands the idol of Armazi.
How to get.
The path starts from the remains of the Pityakhsh Palace of Armaziskhevi, where there is a passage to the fortress of Armazi. In front of the castle itself is the monastery of the Virgin, there is a path to the top - the main castle.
The other path has about 3 kilometers, the trail begins at the confluence of the rivers, where the railway track is located. Along the way, you can find many places to relax.
Choosing what to see in Georgia, many tourists take a trip here. Only here you can enjoy the ancient history, culture of Georgia and nature.

Очень нравится, как сочетается зелень и камень, природа и люди.
Думаю, Крепость Армази определённо стоит включить в свое путешествие и знакомство с Грузией!
