Bodbe–the old and common name of the villages Zemo Bodbe and Kvemo Bodbe. Ancient Georgian sources mention a certain locality – Bodi. It is believed that this is Bodbe. According to some sources, Saint Nino is buried here.
Bodbe–an amazing place. Every object here deserves attention. However, the most popular are the monastery and the spring, which is 3 km away.
The source of Saint Nino, according to legend, appeared thanks to her prayers. It has a rich history. Sick (physically and mentally) people were healed here, just by bathing in it. A church in the name of the parents of Saint Nino (Zabulon and Susanna) was built next to the spring. When Saint Nino died, they wanted to bury her body closer to the chiton of Jesus Christ. A lot of people couldn't move her remains, so she was buried in the same place where she died, in Bodbe.
Indescribable views open from here! There are picturesque hills and dense forests around the monastery. Fresh air that makes you dizzy, views that will not leave anyone indifferent. In the courtyard of the monastery there are perennial oaks, linden trees and tall cypresses.
This place is a must-visit for nature lovers, travelers or people who want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Breathtaking views, mountain air, nature, rich history and much more.
