From the outside, the place seems pretty modest, giving the impression of being small, but once you're inside, you'll be taken aback by its actual size. We entered while it was drizzling, but the cozy, vintage decor made us forget the rain. The staff was attentive, ready to seat us — without a prior reservation, we were given spots near the front. A live music trio provided a lovely soundtrack to our dinner, paired beautifully with delicious food, making it a truly special experience.
We skipped the appetizers and went straight for a bottle of Old Friend wine Saperavi, which we had tried the day before and loved. The roasted chicken, prepared shkmeruli style, was exceptional. The tender chicken in a rich cream sauce paired perfectly with the Georgian bread. I'd return to have the same meal again. My companion tried the beef and shrimp with sweet potato.
For dessert, we opted for the Georgian jelly. Although there was an initial plan to get cheesecake, the jelly turned out to be a great choice, and it seems there's no going wrong with their desserts! The ambiance felt romantic but is also suitable for a family dinner or even a solo visit for some relaxation.
A big thanks to the live trio for wrapping up our meal with beautiful tunes — this place was the perfect end to our fantastic trip in Georgia. Gratitude also goes to Hotel British House for recommending this spot on our first day.
