Gürcü şair, yazar ve filolog Giorgi Leonidze'nin doğduğu köy olan Patardzeuli, Tiflis'in doğusunda, Sagarejo yakınlarında bulunuyor. Ailesi yerel bir rahip ve öğretmen olan Nicolaus Leonidze ve Sofio Gulisashvili'ydi. Leonidze, yazmaya 1911'de başlamış, ancak edebi görüşleri Oscar Wilde hakkındaki makalesinden sonra daha belirgin hale gelmiş. Babasının Tiflis'teki evinin satışından elde ettiği gelirle "Saphironi" almanacını yayınlamış. Eğitimini tamamladıktan sonra Gürcü şiirinin teknik gelişimiyle ilgilenmiş. Памятник Георгию Леонидзе в Тбилиси оставляет позитивное впечатление. Леонидзе, еще известный как выдающийся грузинский поэт и писатель, родился в Кахетии и учился в семинарии, после чего продолжил образование в университете. Его первые стихи появились в печати в 1911 году, а настоящий талант проявился в 1925 году через лирические произведения о природе родного края. Леонидзе старался следовать политической линии советского времени. В этот период в его поэзии появилось больше исторических и патриотических тем. Трагедии 1930-х годов отразились на его творчестве, когда репрессии затронули многих его коллег и брата. Тогда он был вынужден писать в духе того времени. Также он занимался изучением грузинских поэтов и написал прозаическое произведение «Натврис хе», вдохновленное воспоминаниями о детстве, которое позже экранизировал Тенгиз Абуладзе. В последние годы он оказал поддержку родному селу и возглавлял институт грузинской литературы до своей смерти. Леонидзе похоронен в пантеоне на горе Мтацминда. Памятник этому замечательному человеку действительно стоит посетить.
