The Akhalkalaki Museum of Local Lore, founded in 1957, is a historical museum located at the address: st. Mashtotsi, 37, Akhalkalaki. This cultural center is a non-entrepreneurial (non-profit) legal entity of the municipality and offers a valuable collection of 4,095 preserved objects. The museum's collection includes ethnographic exhibits, such as samples of folk furniture, costumes and various materials dating from the 19th to the 20th centuries. In addition, there are archaeological finds dating from the late Bronze Age to the late Middle Ages. Open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, except Sunday and Monday. The ticket price is 1 lari, but admission is free for children under 6 years old, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members, people with disabilities and refugees upon presentation of an identity card. Offers two main exhibitions: "Historical Past of Javakheti" and "Archaeological Excavations in Javakheti", as well as educational programs including "School Programs and Museum" and "Traditions of Samtskhe-Javakheti".
