Shalauri Wine Cellar - Craft Wines and Caucasus View in Telavi

Shalauri Wine Cellar is an artisan winery located on the outskirts of Telavi, in the Kakheti region. It was founded by four friends who set themselves the goal of producing natural wines in qvevri with minimal intervention, strictly following traditions.

Among the signature wines is the rich Saperavi, made from 30-year-old vines from the Tsinandali microzone. Red wines are aged for up to four years, which gives them depth and nobility. In total, about 25,000 bottles are produced per year, most of which are exported.

Guests are welcomed in a warm, almost homely atmosphere. Tours are often led by one of the co-founders, for example David Buadze. Visitors can take a look into the cellar with 43 qvevris, taste wine on the veranda with a view of the snow-capped peaks and enjoy an open-air dinner with signature Georgian cuisine.
