Ikano Estate - biodynamic winemaking and premium wines of Kvareli

Ikano Estate is a winery located in Kvareli, Kakheti region, Georgia. It combines ancient winemaking traditions with modern technologies, creating unique wines with character. This is not just a winery, but a living history, rooted in the Kakhetian land. More than 27 hectares of vineyards in the Kindzmarauli area are cultivated by hand, with careful attention to each vine. Here, they value meaning, not speed - which is why the estate is switching to biodynamic methods and aims to be fully certified as an organic viticulture by 2024.

Wine is born not only in the vineyard, but also in a place where the past literally breathes. When the winery was founded, fragments of the ancient wall of the city of Nekresi and the remains of wine cellars dating back to the 1st century AD were discovered. This is not a museum - it is part of Ikano, its spirit and inspiration. The fermentation process takes place in qvevri — 20 clay vessels with a capacity of 32,000 liters allow for the production of up to 40,000 bottles per year. Here, traditions are respected, but advanced technologies are not abandoned. Ikano Qvevri-Saperavi and Rkatsiteli are a synthesis of the past and the future, land and knowledge.
