Baia's Wine is an organic winery of the Abulvadze family in Obchishe, Imereti
- Description
Baia's Wine is a family winery founded by the Abulvadze sisters in the village of Obcha, Baghdati Municipality, Imereti Region. Here, at the foot of the Sairme Mountains, they create organic qvevri wines from rare autochthonous varieties, combining the traditions of three generations with a modern view of eco-friendly winemaking.
The first wines - Tsolikouri, Krakhuna, Aladasturi and Otskhanuri Sapere - were created with love and enthusiasm, and the production has grown from home experiments to a recognizable brand with an international reputation. The grapes are hand-picked in the vineyards of Obcha, maceration lasts up to three months, fermentation takes place on wild yeast, and each qvevri is individually processed. Baia, Gvantsa and George don’t just make wine, they create a philosophy of taste, land and honest work.
The winery is open to guests: here you can not only taste organic wine, but also take part in the harvest, walk through the vineyard, help wash the grapes or taste the future wine straight from the barrel.
