Giorgi Akhvlediani House Museum

The house-museum of Giorgi Akhvlediani is located in the village of Derchi, Tskhaltubo, and was founded in 1989. This museum, officially recognized as a non-profit organization of the Cultural Center of the Tskhaltubo Municipality, is a memorial institution. The museum's collection contains valuable memorial artifacts related to the life and work of the famous Georgian linguist and public figure Giorgi Akhvlediani (1887-1973). Among the exhibits you can find furniture, dishes, letters, works of a scientist, as well as various documents and photographic materials. The museum is open to the public every day, except Mondays, from 10:00 to 18:00. Ticket prices vary: for schoolchildren and students - 1 GEL, adults - 2 GEL, and the excursion costs 5 GEL. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with an ID card), as well as for people with disabilities and refugees upon presentation of a valid ID. Exhibitions such as “Georgi Akhvlediani – scientist and public figure”, “Georgi Akhvlediani and the village of Derchi”, and “Famous people from Derchi” are held on an ongoing basis. The museum also offers educational programs, including "Open Lesson at the Museum" and "Victoriana - I agree: About the history of our village."
