In September and October the summer heat is gone. Such weather disposes to long leisurely walks around the city, explore the history and sights.
The tourist season ends, so the most famous places in the city are not as crowded as in summer.

Tbilisoba Festival
The most important fall festival in the capital of Georgia is Tbilisoba, both the Harvest Festival and Tbilisi City Day. There is a mix of everything: dancing, songs, sweets, juices, national dishes, and Georgian wine. The holiday has no exact date, but it is usually the first weekend in October.
The main sites of the holiday are in the youngest park of the city - Rike and in the old districts of Tbilisi: Mtatsminda, Avlabari, Abanotubani, Sololaki. Concerts are held on the main stage in Rike Park, where singers and dancers from all over Georgia show their art. Performers also perform at other venues and in the streets of the city.
In the park unfolds "Town of Craftsmen" - a huge exhibition-fair of handicrafts of folk craftsmen. Skilled craftsmen weave, knit, create real masterpieces of metal, wood, etc. in front of your eyes. These are wonderful souvenirs from Georgia.
Improvised counters are bursting with national pastries and sweets. Farmers from all over Georgia bring their products here, all the most delicious and flavorful - fruits, spices, vegetables, cheeses, wine.
The smoke from the braziers is wafting everywhere, and the aromas of shashlik are wafting. You won't leave without tasting some delicious char-grilled meat with tkemali sauce.
You will see how the young wine is made. Teams of men and children get together and take turns pressing the grapes with their feet in a special trough, satsakheli. The resulting juice is taken to the wineries and poured into kvevri - vessels in which the wine stands.
Children are very excited about the holiday. After all, many surprises and entertainment are prepared for them: games, contests, mini-performances and much more.
One gets the impression that Tbilisoba is an old national holiday, but it is not. Harvest Day was first held in 1979. It was so enjoyed by the citizens and guests of Tbilisi that it became an annual event.
The bright, noisy, fun holiday delights everyone - hosts and guests alike.
