There is a Church of St. George in the village of Didi Ateni. It was built from pieces of cobblestone in 1060-1072.
On the front side of the western facade you can see a stone insert made of seven lines with a very interesting and unusual inscription. This insert contains information about the stages of construction of this structure.
On the south side you can see the entrance in the form of an arch. The interior is made in very beautiful colors and an unusual style. On both sides of the walls you will see apses with windows, a rectangular recess and the same gilded border. The back room is covered by a huge and very beautiful cylindrical vault.
Also, a very beautiful and gradient transition is created thanks to the triumphal arch, which rests on a snow-white capital. Outside, all the facades of the building were covered with plaster.
On the side of the western corner, a cornice with an unusual bend has been preserved, and on the south side there are parts of another, very ancient cornice, which was built several centuries ago.
Unfortunately, the church was damaged, but it was able to be reconstructed qualitatively.
