The Church of St. Theodore Tsikhisjvari is a monument of the XIX century. It is located in the village of Tsikhisjvari, surrounded by a river on three sides. The structure was built on the site of one of the Georgian temples.
The building belongs to the zal type and ends with a semicircular asp in the east. The cathedral is built of rough stones. Hewn stone was used only to decorate the openings and corners of the church. The exterior of the building is covered with plaster.
On the west side there are wooden choirs with a staircase that originates from the hall. The altar is separated from the hall by a high iconostasis built in the twentieth century.
The structure has ten window jambs at an angle, three of them are located in the walls of the building, the other two are in the altar, and the remaining two are on the wall on the west side.
There is only one entrance to the church, located on the west side, very beautifully decorated. In the upper part of the entrance there is an illustrated cross, with a certain relief, which is made of hewn stone. On the left side of the entrance, at the bottom, there is a part of the ornament of the ancient Georgian cathedral.
Along the perimeter of the cathedral, you will see many different inscriptions, images of icons, deities, people associated with Orthodoxy.
