The church of St. Constantine was built of huge boulders. It is located in the village of Tajisi. When looking at it, it is difficult to imagine how they were moved by the ancient builders. There is a lot to see in Georgia.
Every one of us, going to travel to Georgiastarts looking for "the most beautiful places in Georgia, "what to see in Georgia.".
And both of these lists can be added to Tejisi aya Constantini or, in other words, the Church of St. Constantine.
Write down where to find her.
Location: Kvemo Kartli region, Tsalka municipality, Tejisi village.
At first glance, it is striking that the church dates back to the Middle Ages. The first thing that gives it away is the fence made of megalithic stones. Judging by all, each of these cobblestones was tried to be shaped into an approximate square shape. It is interesting how the builders managed to move each of these boulders. One, or even a few ordinary people simply could not do it.
But if you take your mind off the technicalities, you can catch yourself thinking that this way of building resembles a miniature Stonehenge.
Inside the fence is a small stone church. Apparently, after some time, the local ministers needed additional space and built an annex on the south side of the church, which, unfortunately, did not survive in its full form. Only the walls have survived to this day.
Of course, in this style the temple will not be rich in decorative elements and the maximum you can find here is a three-dimensional cross carved into the wall at the entrance.
Inside, the entire interior is a 3.8-meter-high menhir depicting a cross. Menhir means long stone in Celtic. That is, it is a wild high processed stone.
There are also traces of Cromlech on the territory of the temple - several vertically mounted oblong stones, lined up in the form of concentric circles.
In addition, there are ruins of cyclopean buildings. This is the name given to constructions built of hewn stone boulders fitted together without any mortar.
That is, it appears that there used to be a fairly large religious center here.
By the way, if you get to the village itself, there is another church with a megalithic fence.
Lands of Georgia, as you can see, can be surprising. Not only can you see the familiar postcard architecture here, but you can also see things you wouldn't expect.

Тем, кто не интересуется историей и архитектурой древних построек, все еще стоит посмотреть на Храм Святого Константина, ведь здешняя природа не оставит равнодушным ни одного туриста, в этом я уверена.
