The monument of Georgian architecture Zemo Karabulaki Church is located in Kvemo Kartli, in Dmanisi. It is in a dilapidated state. It will be interesting to see it in Georgia for those who are interested in the era of the early Middle Ages.
The Zemo-Karabulakhi Church dates back to the 11th century and is a landmark of Georgia. At this time, the building is waiting for its turn for restoration.
For those who have finally planned a trip to Sakartvelo (as Georgians call their great homeland), we are ready to show the most beautiful places of Georgia in our opinion.
And yes, in search of what to see in Georgia, you will find many different monuments, but we suggest paying attention to the church of Zemo-Karabulakhi.
Be sure to mark where it is located so as not to lose it.
Location: Kvemo-Kartli region, Dmanisi municipality, Zemo-Karabulakhi village.
The age of this cathedral is already very venerable, because the date of foundation dates back to the period of the 10th-11th century. Many buildings of that period have already completely collapsed, but this one still holds.
According to its layout, the Zemo-Karabulakhi church is of a hall type, which means that it is quite spacious and bright, because this is what is characteristic of this style. In the eastern part there is a central semicircular apse. Moreover, characteristically, it is not on the same level with the floor, but 2 steps higher.
In the northern part there is a table decorated with Brocade (a solemn fabric made of silk base with the addition of gold and silver). This table is designed for dissection, which means that it is on it that bread and wine are prepared for communion.
Priests' clothes and dishes intended for church purposes are also stored here.
The inner hall is divided by pilasters (a flat rectangular projection in the wall imitating a column) into 3 parts.
The facades of the church are covered with hewn basalt stones.
Unfortunately, not all the details have been preserved, as the lavgardan has already been severely destroyed. But if you look at the top of the church, you can see the traces left by the reconstruction. Apparently, attempts were once made to preserve the building.
The ornaments above the east window are still preserved, though only half. A three-dimensional cross is depicted next to the window.
As it should be, the Zemo Karabulakhi Church has 2 entrances: south and north. The first one is straight, and the second one is decorated with an arch. Above the south door there is an inscription carved in stone, which speaks of Kings David and Quirik.
Unfortunately, all this beauty is in a dilapidated state and is waiting for its turn for reconstruction. And until that happens, come here for a dose of the special romance of antiquity.

Сколько древности в этом здании, истории. Хотелось бы увидеть, каким это место было изначально. Надеюсь, если будет реставрация, она покажет максимально похожую картину на ту, какой церковь была века назад.
