The Church of St. Elijah is located in the ancient city of Mtskheta, it can be found near the settlement of Tskhvarichamiya. This is a whole architectural complex consisting of the main church, chapel and bell tower. At the foot of the church there is a neat terrace with a view of the most beautiful places of Georgia.

Saint Elijah, in whose honor the church was erected, was one of the most selfless fighters for the independence of the Georgian people, he was the spiritual leader of more than one generation and now many believers of the country worship him. He was elevated to the rank of saints thanks to his sermons and active work to preserve the cultural identity of the country. During one of his pilgrimages he was brutally murdered, after his death he became a martyr.
