There are three operational mineral water sites in Borjomi: the central one (within the city of Borjomi). Likansky (on the territory of Likani) and Vashlovansko-Kvibissky (on the territories of the villages of Vashlovani and kvibisi).
There are nine production wells at the sites, the depth of which reaches 1200-1500 meters. In Likani (a former settlement, now part of Borjomi, an area in the westernmost part of the city), there are abundant deposits of warm (28-33 ° C) mineral water, the main indicators of which are a special combination of the composition of bicarbonates, magnesium and calcium, as well as natural carbon dioxide. All these substances give the water, coming to the surface from a depth of 1500 meters, a unique mild taste
In Likani, between the mountains, on the bank of the Kura River, there is a forest park, where century-old oaks and coniferous trees are found. In the center of the park stands the Romanov Palace, around which ornamental plants grow and squares are laid out. This palace was built in 1892-1895 at the request of Grand Duke Nikolai Mikhailovich Romanov for his brother, the Russian Emperor Alexander II, designed by architect Leontius Benois. In 1898, to provide the palace with electricity, the first hydroelectric power station in the Russian Empire was built on the Borjomula River.
The palace complex consists of seven buildings. The main palace is designed in the Moorish style and has an original architecture - it has a different shape from different sides. The halls in the palace are distinguished by their original style.
