Prometheus Cave (Tskaltuba district, village of Kumistavi) was discovered in 1984 by an expedition of speleologists of the Institute of Geography named after Vakhushti Bagrationi. The 17 halls of the cave abound with hanging stalactites and stalagmites of unusually beautiful shapes, helictites, pisolites, petrified waterfalls, stone curtains." A 1050-meter-long trail runs through the cave. However, it is assumed that the total length of the cave exceeds 20,000 meters. The climate of the cave is useful for people suffering from asthma
The name "Sataplia" is associated with bees that nest in calcareous crevices from time immemorial ("tapli" in Georgian. - "honey"). The cave is a natural channel of the Ogaskuri River. For 30 million years ago, this small river slowly made its way and expanded the corridors of the cave. This cave was discovered in 1925 by Petre Chabukiani, an employee of the Kutaisi Museum, who was looking for the sites of primitive man. The Satallia Nature Reserve located around the cave was once inhabited by giant dinosaurs. Their traces have been preserved to this day. Satallia was the first karst cave in Georgia, in which an appropriate infrastructure was built to receive tourists.
To the south of the village of Tsutskhvati in Tkibul district is the Magara karst cave, which ranks second in the world in terms of the number of steps in antiquity. There are 13 floors in the 75-meter vertical cave sinkhole. The cave was used for religious rites.
The Tskaltubo karst cave (Tetra) is located in the vicinity of the village of Homuli.
