🎯 History and mission of the gallery

Window Project started in 2013 with a unique idea - to transform the empty window of the Pantomime Theatre on Rustaveli Avenue into an art space. This initiative became a kind of rebellion against the traditional perception of art, making it accessible to everyone. 🎨

The main mission is to support young talents and revive the creative dialogue between generations and cultures. The gallery brings together new voices of contemporary art with the works of recognized masters, which contributes to the preservation and development of Georgian cultural heritage. 🌍

Since 2019, the gallery has moved to a new exhibition space, where it has expanded the opportunities for curatorial projects, performances and master classes. Now Window Project is a center where ideas and experiments take shape, and artists can realize their boldest ideas. 🖌️

Is it possible to book a guided tour or attend any special events at the gallery, or is it mostly self-guided visits?

Does the gallery host international artists as well, or is it focused solely on Georgian talent?

Is it true that admission is usually free and there's a cafe nearby for a quick bite after exploring the gallery?

I recently visited this contemporary art gallery in Tbilisi, and it was quite an enriching experience. The space is well-curated with a variety of artworks, including paintings, installations, video art, and performances. I appreciated how they support both young and renowned Georgian artists. The fact that they offer free entry quite often is a nice touch, making art accessible to more people. It's conveniently located near a metro station, and there are cafes nearby, which makes planning a visit easy. The gallery also provides Wi-Fi and is accessible for people with disabilities, which is always important.
