🎭 History of the gallery and its inspiration

The art gallery was founded in honor of the outstanding Georgian artist Felix Varlamishvili, who made a significant contribution to the development of Georgian art. After studying at the Art Academy, Varlamishvili continued his career in Paris, where his works were presented in leading galleries of the French capital. The master’s style, which combined Georgian traditions and European modernism, made him one of the most original Georgian artists of the 20th century.

Inspired by his work and the desire to support Georgian art, Varla Gallery was created to reflect the legacy of an outstanding personality and to give a chance to contemporary Georgian artists to present their works. It exhibits paintings, sculptures, graphics, as well as works of art that reflect the rich culture of Georgia.

Does the gallery offer any guided tours or English materials for non-Georgian speakers? I'm curious how accessible the art and educational activities would be for someone who's not familiar with the language.

Do they offer guided tours in English for visitors who don't speak Georgian or Russian? Also, I'm curious, are there any interactive exhibits or activities for visitors to engage with the art more deeply?

Is there a specific reason why the gallery was named after Felix Varlamishvili? I'm curious to know more about his influence on Georgian art and why he's considered noteworthy enough to have a whole gallery named in his honor.
