The State Museum of Folk and Applied Art of Georgia will tell you all about the development of various kinds of creative life and art development in Georgia. Here is a rich collection of exhibits that belonged not only to the Georgian people, but also to the people of the Caucasus. Here you are presented with many works of art: works of gold and silver, ancient bone materials, artistically processed, silk products and much more.
The Museum of Folk and Applied Art has numerous collections of gold and silver items belonging to the peoples of Georgia and the countries of the Caucasus and belonging to the XIX-XX centuries, samples of artistic woodworking, bone, metal (mainly necklaces, belts, weapons, household items), Silk, leather and fabric products, Caucasian carpets, musical instruments, costumes, tapestries, embroidery samples, visual, graphic and sculptural works of primitive artists, sketches and sketches on the Caucasus created by the Latvian artist Straume (1874-1970).
The abundance of masters of folk art in the second half of the 19th century and the development of their work made it possible to save and later revive this unique culture. In 1899 on the initiative of A. Piralishvili and I. Machabeli, the Caucasian Cultural Committee, founded in Tbilisi, formed the Artisanal Museum of Domestic Industry. At the museum was established an art workshop, which brought together well-known figures of Georgian culture: A. Kakabadze, G. Gabashvili, I. Straume, O. Schmerling, P. Magalashvili. M. Grinevsky, N. Vogel, D. Tsitsiovili, M. Machavariani and others.
The art workshop studied and collected the oldest original Caucasian ornaments and created sketches and sketches. At the initiative of this workshop, an expedition to the Caucasus region was organized. Photographic techniques, sketches and sketches in watercolor and gouache were taken into account and exact copies of the carpets were made. 450 originals of these works are kept in the State Museum of Folk and Applied Art of Georgia.

Этому музею дал усовершенствоваться наличие большого количества
мастеров народного творчества, во второй половине девятнадцатого века.
Они реставрировали старые гончарные работы древней культуры.
По всему Грузии находили древние орнаменты, вышивки, рукодельные
работы срисовывали, фотографировали. Сделали точные копий ковров
с использованием зарисовок эскизов с акварелью и гуашью.
В музее есть множество произведений из золота и серебра украшений,
костные изделия, шёлковые, войлочные изделия, гобеленов.
Есть ещё эскизы кавказкой этнографии.
