🌿 About the museum and the village of Korsha
The village of Korsha is a real treasure trove of Khevsureti, where connoisseurs of peace and pristine nature come. The territory, surrounded by harsh mountains and high mountain passes, is especially valuable for its atmosphere and authenticity: narrow mountain paths, turbulent rivers and majestic peaks create a feeling of extreme solitude. It is here, in an ancient tower preserved since the 18th century, that local residents opened the Korsha Ethnographic Museum.
Inside you will see:
- 👗 Traditional clothing of the Khevsurs - women's headscarves, men's chokhas and belts with metal trim.
- 🛠️ Household items - copper utensils, wooden furniture, primitive agricultural tools.
- 🗡️ Military equipment - daggers, chain mail and ancient firearms.
- 🖼️ Photographs and paintings by Shota Arabuli - rare photographs and paintings telling about the life of the Korshi people.
In summer, there is an exhibition and sale of folk crafts and paintings by the museum founder, sculptor and artist Shota Arabuli - a great chance to take home an authentic souvenir! 🎨🛍️
