History of the Museum

The Tkhilvan Ethnographic Museum was founded in 2001 with the aim of preserving the cultural heritage of the mountainous regions of Adjara.

The museum's mission is to show the development of crafts, art, agriculture and everyday life in the region over the past two centuries.

Thanks to the efforts of local historians and researchers, the museum has managed to collect more than 1,000 exhibits that represent various aspects of the life of the Adjarans.
