The house-museum contains personal belongings of Fore Mosulishvili, documents, letters, awards, photographs, etc. Christopher (Fore) Mosulishvili (1916-1944) was a participant in World War II and a national hero of the Italian Republic. On February 28, 1970, he was awarded the highest award of the Italian Republic - the gold medal d`Oro al Valor Militare alla memoria. In 1990, he was awarded the highest award of the Soviet Union - the Gold Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously).

In 1939, Fore Mosulishvili was drafted into the Soviet Army. During the battle, he was seriously wounded and captured by the Germans. Fore ended up first in Poland, then in France and, finally, in a prisoner of war camp in Italy. Fore Mosulishvili managed to disarm the camp guards and, together with 70 other Georgians, escape from captivity. In Italy, in the province of Novara, Fore and his unit joined the Italian partisans. On December 1, 1944, at the end of the village of Colonia, a detachment of Italian partisans under the command of Delgato was surrounded by the Germans. Of the 16 fighters, 7 were Georgians. After a bloody battle, many partisans were wounded and their ammunition was almost running out. The detachment could have been completely destroyed. The Germans issued an ultimatum: if the commander of the partisan detachment surrendered, the rest would be allowed to leave the battlefield. While the partisans were still trying to figure out what was going on, Fore Mosulishvili stepped forward and shouted loudly: "I am the commander, long live freedom!" and committed suicide in front of everyone. With this heroic self-sacrifice, he gave the entire detachment the opportunity to escape. The Germans fulfilled the condition and released all the partisans. Fore Mosulishvili is buried in Northern Italy, in Arona. The grateful Italian people recognized him as a national hero of Italy. Not far from the city of Arona, at the location of the partisan detachment headquarters, a memorial museum of Fore Mosulishvili was founded.

It's fascinating to learn about Fore Mosulishvili's bravery and dedication, particularly his contributions to both the Soviet army and Italian partisans during WWII. Are there any special exhibitions or events held at the museum to commemorate his achievements?

Is there any information about how the museum shares the story of Fore's time with the Italian partisans or the significance of his actions?

Visiting the house museum dedicated to Fore Mosulishvili was a profoundly moving experience. Seeing his personal belongings and the documents that testify to his bravery during World War II left a lasting impression on me. The story of his escape from captivity and ultimate sacrifice for his fellow partisans was both tragic and inspiring. It’s a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during the war and the international recognition of his heroism.
