Squares and boulevards

Probably the busiest and most beloved place by tourists is the small Piazza. It is compared to the Venetian St. Mark's Square because the Piazza is built and decorated in the Italian style.

There are several hotels on the piazza, one of them in a clock tower. Every three hours, puppets appear in the window.

There is live music in the cozy cafes and restaurants. In summer, there are concerts on the square.

Address: King Parnavaza Street 25, Batumi, Georgia

From the Piazza you can walk to Europe Square, which is located in the heart of the city, not far from the astronomical clock. There is a stele, which is crowned with the figure of Medea with the Golden Fleece in her hand. The four sides of the stele depict scenes from the myth of the journey of the Argonauts.

On hot summer days, the square attracts the fountain, its jets gushing directly from the ground.

In winter, the biggest Christmas tree of Batumi is installed on Europe Square, Christmas bazaar works, the main New Year's festivities take place.

The highlight of Theater Square is the Neptune Fountain, an exact copy of the one installed in Italian Bologna. Although those who have seen the original fountain have a low opinion of it, most tourists like it and Neptune is often used as an object for photo sessions. Probably because of the fountain Theatre Square has a second name - Poseidon Square.

But it is also called Teatralnaya for a reason. After all, the square is located in front of the city Drama Theater.

Nearby runs Rustaveli Street - the main street in Batumi.

The new boulevard is a continuation of the same boulevard, rebuilt the old embankment. It starts near the Park of Wonders and runs along the new part of Batumi.

Above the boulevard rises the Ferris wheel. There are original sculptures on it.

The composition "Love" attracts attention - these are moving figures of a boy and a girl (Ali and Nino), symbolizing eternal love. The sculpture looks especially spectacular in the evening when the lights are turned on.

There is also a 130-meter-tall Georgian Alphabet Tower with a viewing terrace and rotating restaurant, the old Lighthouse (1867) and others.
