From the Piazza you can walk to Europe Square, which is located in the heart of the city, not far from the astronomical clock. There is a stele, which is crowned with the figure of Medea with the Golden Fleece in her hand. The four sides of the stele depict scenes from the myth of the journey of the Argonauts.
On hot summer days, the square attracts the fountain, its jets gushing directly from the ground.
In winter, the biggest Christmas tree of Batumi is installed on Europe Square, Christmas bazaar works, the main New Year's festivities take place.
The highlight of Theater Square is the Neptune Fountain, an exact copy of the one installed in Italian Bologna. Although those who have seen the original fountain have a low opinion of it, most tourists like it and Neptune is often used as an object for photo sessions. Probably because of the fountain Theatre Square has a second name - Poseidon Square.
But it is also called Teatralnaya for a reason. After all, the square is located in front of the city Drama Theater.
