The two-day Midjniskure — Black Mountain jeep tour passes through the territory of the Vashlovansky National Park, through the most beautiful places of Georgia. The route is of medium complexity, in the process of passing there will be walking sections of the route - the ascent to the Black Mountain.
Georgia is more often known to tourists as a mountainous country, but there are unique natural territories in the east of the republic, near the border with Azerbaijan – Vashlovan National Park. The height above sea level does not exceed 800-900 m .
The sights of Georgia in the Vashlovan territories are several historical and archaeological monuments and natural objects: Kaklis Kure – forests on the shore Alazani, Takhti-Tepa mud volcanoes, Eagle Gorge.
A huge variety of flora and fauna is concentrated on a small territory. Here you can find pine forests and woodlands, steppes and semi-deserts. There are gorges and mountains, but not high.
Ecotourist trails of varying complexity are laid in the park. You can travel on foot or by jeep.
Midjniskure – Black Mountain Route
Jeep tour medium difficulty combines car travel and hiking. It is necessary to overcome 220 km in 2 days.
Your way lies through the valleys of Pantishir and Natlistskali, then along the mountain range and gradually descends through wooded slopes into the Alazani floodplain. You will constantly stop, admire the views and take a lot of photos. Viewing platforms are equipped for the convenience of tourists.
You can spend the night in a tourist campsite, there are 5-6 of them in the park. There is a ranger on duty in each of them, who will help you, tell you in which direction to move further along the route.
On the second day, you move through the Imeda Valley to the Black Mountain (Shavi Mta). Uphill – only on foot. Fabulous pictures of pristine nature open from the top of the hill. In good weather, the Caucasian Ridge is visible.
On the Black Mountain, you can see the ruins of the monastery (4-5 century), fragments of the foundation and floor have been preserved.

The park is open at any time of the year, but it is better to come here in spring or autumn. It is preferable to move around on SUVs.
How to get
From Tbilisi, you can get to Dedoplistskaro by bus in 2.5 hours (130 km). They walk several times a day, after about 60 minutes.
