Those who are looking for something to see in Georgia will like the route passing through the villages of Nikortsminda, Chelishchi and the Leknari Church of St. George.
Pay attention to the seasonality: this route is suitable for any time of the year, but the best time to travel along this route is the end of spring (May), summer and early autumn (September, October).
The starting point of the route is the outskirts of the village of Nikortsminda. The first thing we do is go to the Celia Monastery. Along the way, we will have beautiful views, we will pass through the source of the Schareula River and the Nikortsminda ice cave. After we have finished the inspection of the monastery, we need to go back to the starting point of the route. Now we will move in the other direction, because in the western direction, 11 km from the village of Nikortsminda, there is a camp where you can stay.
From here you can go south to the monastery of Leknari, from where you can enjoy a 360° view of Mount Hvaml. This is the last point of the visit, after which we return to the camp. It will be possible to return to the starting point the next day by the original route.
