They are performed not only in the holy places of Georgia, but also on city and rural streets, during feasts and even at work.

Georgian dances are also considered integral fragments of the country's life. Their elements include both acrobatic movements and rhythmic steps, this has remained unchanged for many centuries.
The majority of the population are trained in national dance movements in elementary school, and the first dance is a special link in many weddings: it is an ancient ceremony where the bride brings her chosen one to the dance floor and a dance is formed from graceful movements that denotes their relationship. Universally known Sukhishvili National Ballet he has been performing since 1945. Their amazing creativity instantly gained fame, and when the ensemble created its first album, it immediately proved very popular in its native country. In addition to touring, the Sukhishvili Ensemble holds concerts in Georgia several times a year.
Rustavi and Erisioni dance ensembles are also worth a look. In Tbilisi, on Rustaveli Avenue, you can see national dances almost every evening at the Nabadi Theater. Each is performed in a luxurious traditional chokha suit, a knee–length coat with a wide belt, complete with cartridge holders that are horizontally on the chest. Included with the suit is a saber. Sometimes weapons are a piece of art.
In 2004, the prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, Nino Ananiashvili, became artistic director Georgian Opera and Ballet Theater named after Z. P. Paliashvili. Due to her excellent work, the Tbilisi Ballet began to develop. The famous dancer George Balanchine created the dance tradition and it continues to improve today.
