This little church is truly special and definitely worth a visit. It feels like stepping back in time. The walls are adorned with stunning icon paintings of religious figures. While we were there, a chanting ritual was taking place, and they welcomed us to sit and watch. It was a magical experience. Just a few steps down, there are beautiful roses and a fantastic view of the city. Highly recommend!

Absolutely breathtaking—definitely one of the most impressive places I've been to. The architecture, ambiance, and historical significance are truly exceptional.

Before entering, visitors must cover their heads, and women without a headscarf cannot go inside. Photography is not allowed, which helps maintain the tranquil and respectful environment of the site.

Even with these rules, the experience is incredibly rewarding. The interior is stunning, and the beauty of the place is best appreciated in person. Simply put: beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

Even though you can reach the mountain peak by taking the Narikara Cable Car, you can't go down to the Narikara Fortress area, which is currently under construction (as of October 2025). However, if you walk in the opposite direction, you'll find the impressive Mother of Georgia statue, with staircases on either side. As I descended these steps, enjoying the view of Tbilisi, I eventually reached this church.

While the Sion Church in the old town is certainly beautiful, this church, tucked away in a serene, hilly neighborhood, has a soothing charm that brings peace just by being there. (There are plenty of cats around too.)
