A beautiful temple with a lovely cemetery. The view from the site is also quite impressive.

Die Kirche befindet sich auf einem Hügel und ist von vielen Gräbern umgeben. Der Aufstieg lohnt sich, da man einen schönen Blick auf einen Teil der Stadt hat. Auch das Innere der Kirche ist sehr ansprechend.

A stunning church with a fascinating history and incredible views.

Excellent.

The view from the graves here is so breathtaking that my soul realized it would prefer to find peace here after death rather than in Paris. The temple is also surrounded by a panoramic platform overlooking Kutaisi. This is one of my top three favorite spots in Kutaisi, alongside the nearby hydroelectric power station and the nearby Armenian church. I also met a guide here who shows tourists the non-trivial places in Kutaisi, and he has the same favorite places as I do.

The entrance is in a different location than shown on Google Maps, and it took some time to find the gate, but it was worth it. Standing on the viewing terrace, gazing at the starry sky and city lights, with the background of children singing carols to announce the birth of Christ (it was Christmas Eve) - such magical moments are rare, but this was one of them. The church itself is very charming, and it's worth going inside to light a candle with an intention.
