The statue of Lesya Ukrainka in Telavi is a monument to the outstanding Ukrainian poetess, writer, translator and cultural figure Lesya Ukrainka, installed in the city of Telavi, Georgia. The monument was delivered from Kyiv and installed in January 2010 in Nadikvari Park, but was officially opened only on November 28, 2017.
The initiative to install the monument belongs to the government of Ukraine, which emphasizes the historical and cultural connection between Ukraine and Georgia. The opening of the memorial was attended by senior officials of both countries, including the Prime Minister of Ukraine V. Groysman and the Minister of Culture and Protection of Monuments of Georgia M. Giorgadze.
The monument was created by Ukrainian sculptors O. Yu. Ruban, V. R. Lipovka and architect V. P. Skulsky. The monument to Lesya Ukrainka in Telavi commemorates the poetess's significant contribution to world literature and culture, as well as her connection with this city, where she lived in 1909-1910 and wrote several travel works, such as "The Stone Master" and "Rufin and Priscilla" .
