The International Organization for Migration (IOM) office in Telavi provides a wide range of services and support for migrants, internally displaced persons, repatriates and the local population. Since IOM began its activities in Georgia in 1993, the organization has been actively working to resolve humanitarian issues related to migration and providing direct humanitarian assistance. The main areas of work include promoting international migration legislation, participating in policy debates and developing recommendations, protecting the rights of migrants, caring for the health of migrants and gender aspects of migration.
Migrants, people in need of information and assistance on migration issues, as well as representatives of local communities can contact the representative office. It provides assistance in obtaining legal advice, medical support, and also conducts entertainment and educational activities that promote integration and mutual understanding between different groups of the population.
