Telavi State University named after Jacob Gogebashvili (TESAU) is one of the oldest educational centers in Georgia, founded in 1939. The university continues the centuries-old traditions of education, dating back to the Ikalto Academy and the Telavi Philosophical and Theological School. Since 1999, the institution has the status of a state university and provides high-quality education in the Georgian language.
The university offers education at three levels: bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, and also provides professional educational programs. TESAU includes 5 faculties, more than 30 laboratories, a training seminar, a legal clinic, several research centers and various clubs for students.
The university's material and technical base includes four academic buildings, sports grounds and a modern library with more than 200 thousand books.
