Rustaveli metro station. Akhmeteli-Varketili line of the Tbilisi metro
- Description
Rustaveli metro station is an important junction on the Akhmeteli-Varketili line of the Tbilisi metro. Located between the Marjanishvili and Tavisuplebis Moedani stations, the Rustaveli station is one of the deepest stations (60 m) in the metro network and is located on the right bank of the Kura River. It was opened on January 11, 1966 as part of the first section of the Didube - Rustaveli metro station.
The station is named after the famous Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli and is located on the avenue bearing his name. A special feature of the station is the presence of bas-reliefs, the work of the famous artist E. D. Amashukeli. At the southern end of the station there is provision for a future transition to the third metro line, but construction plans remain uncertain.

Одна из ключевых станций в Тбилиси. Отсюда легко добраться куда угодно: на площадь Свободы или в сторону Ваке. Не забывайте заглянуть в метро на 3-ей колонне, там вы найдете знаменитую ракушку.
