Emergency Silence with a View of Mtatsminda - An Abandoned House Above Rike
- Description
The abandoned house above Rike Park is a four-story building from the late 19th century located in the historical center of the capital Sakartvelo. Previously, it housed a hotel, restaurant, sauna, and swimming pool.
The balconies of the upper floors overlook directly Rike Park and Mount Mtatsminda. The architecture has preserved elements of past eras: wrought-iron railings, arched windows, and a façade covered in time. Once a point of attraction, today it is an object for urbanists, researchers, and photographers.
Since August 2020, the building has been officially considered abandoned and is in a state of disrepair. There is no security, you can get inside, but extreme caution is required: some of the floors are damaged, the stairs are dilapidated.
How to find: the house is on a slope above Rike Park. The coordinates indicate the exact location. From the road you can see the balconies and the destroyed roof, the facade faces the old part of the city.
