Georgian Society for the Protection and Rescue of Animals "GSPSA"
- Description
The Georgian Society for the Protection and Rescue of Animals GSPSA (S/N 205171847) was founded in 2006 and operates on the basis of Georgian legislation, its own charter, internationally recognized rules and regulations, taking into account moral principles. The main goal of the organization is to protect and preserve animals in Georgia, maintain biological diversity, and establish harmonious relations between humans and the animal world.
Prior to the official founding of GSPSA, in 2003, its current members founded a shelter for stray dogs, where several hundred animals were housed, most of which subsequently found new homes. In 2012, with the help of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, GSPSA launched the first stray animal sterilization program in Georgia. Since 2020, the organization accepts only injured stray animals and operates a “Boarding House for Injured Dogs.”
In 2021, the organization acquired land and began construction of an animal village called "Richie". GSPSA actively cooperates with animal protection organizations from around the world and has signed memorandums of cooperation with non-governmental and governmental organizations of Georgia.
The GSPSA can be contacted for assistance in rescuing and protecting injured animals and for information on sterilization and adoption programs. A visit to the animal village "Richie" may be interesting for volunteers, animal rights activists and anyone who wants to make a contribution to the rescue and protection of animals in Georgia.
