Mural "Locked Down In Golden Cage" by Innerfields (NIKO Street Art)

  • Description

The mural "Locked Down In Golden Cage" was created by a team of German artists Innerfields in 2020 as part of the Tbilisi Mural Fest project.

The image shows a man in red clothes and a mask, which symbolizes the COVID-19 pandemic. The figure is in a golden cage, which symbolizes the restriction of freedom during the lockdown. A man sits holding a phone, which hints at dependence on technology and virtual communication in isolation. Below, outside the cage, sits a bird with a key, which may represent hope for liberation and a return to normal life.

This work evokes deep reflections on freedom, isolation and new realities, which the world had to face during the pandemic.
