  • Description

This mural is the result of a joint project between Belarusian and Georgian artists Tina Chertova and Alena Davidovich called “Chapters of Fem Empowerment”. It is dedicated to strong female figures from the literature of Belarus and Georgia.

Tina Chertova paid tribute to Ekaterina Gabashvili, a Georgian writer, feminist and public figure. Catherine, who came from a wealthy family, had the opportunity to receive a good education and become an activist, after which she founded a school for women in need of help. Her life was dedicated to the struggle for women's emancipation and social reform. This mural reminds society of her significant contribution to the history of Georgia and the fight for women's rights.

On the other hand, Alena Davidovich's work depicts Larisa Geniyush, a Belarusian poet. On the wall is a quote from her poem: “Don’t banish me, I won’t bend, I’m not afraid of fear or evil. I’m not in vain from the Belarusian land. These lines symbolize inner strength, loyalty to one's beliefs and love for one's homeland. Geniusz is presented in this project as a symbol of unbending spirit and devotion to ideals.

This mural became not only a visual tribute to outstanding women, but also an important reminder of fortitude, education and the fight for equality.
