Public sulfur bath "Tsarina Bath"
- Description
Public sulfur bath The Queen's Bath in Tbilisi is a hidden gem of the old city, located away from the main tourist routes, behind a prominent cafe. This circumstance makes the cost of services here more affordable, which attracts mainly local residents. Despite their less visible location, the quality of the baths is not inferior to their more famous counterparts located on the main roads.
The water in the baths is very warm, rather hot, but at the same time pleasant to the body. As befits sulfur baths, the water here is rich in sulfur, which creates a characteristic smell. This procedure has numerous beneficial and even medicinal properties, but requires moderation: it is recommended not to plunge into a pool of sulfur water more than four times and not to stay in the baths themselves for more than an hour.
The bathhouses provide all the amenities for visitors: there is a hairdryer in the lobby for drying hair, general slippers and towels are provided, and in the bathhouse itself there is a cafe where you can order tea or beer. The historical atmosphere combined with the distinctive smell of sulfur creates a unique experience. In February 2018, a visit to the baths with a massage and scrub cost 65 GEL.
You can find the baths by moving up from the road, turning left after baths No. 5 and going up the street, then right behind the corner cafe. The public sulfur bath The Queen's Bath is a great place for relaxation and wellness, which will be appreciated by both locals and travelers looking for an authentic experience.
