The T. Geladze League Against Epilepsy (GLAE) in Tbilisi is a non-profit legal entity uniting professionals and scientists specializing in working with patients suffering from epilepsy. The organization strives to increase the level of knowledge of specialists and improve the treatment of epilepsy, develops and implements new technologies in this area, and also intensifies scientific research. One of the key activities is to promote the psychosocial rehabilitation of patients and protect their rights, ensuring successful integration into society.
The League's initiative group was formed in 1996 in St. Petersburg and already in 1997 received international recognition at the 22nd International Congress on Epilepsy in Dublin, becoming the Georgian branch of the International League of Epilepsy (ILAE). The founder and first president of the League was academician. Tina Geladze. The organization is based in Tbilisi at the Epilepsy Center of the Petre Sarajishvili Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery. From 2012 to 2019, the League was headed by Nino/Nana Tatishvili, and prof. Tina Geladze is honorary president.
The League Against Epilepsy T. Geladze invites specialists, scientists and interested parties to cooperate to exchange experience and knowledge.
