Georgian Organization of the Scout Movement-Scouts of Georgia
- Description
The organization of the scout movement "Scouts of Georgia", located in Tbilisi, is one of the key organizations in the country aimed at developing the teenage generation and youth through non-formal education. Founded in 1993 with the support of the International Youth Foundation, this non-governmental and non-political organization actively promotes the development of leadership skills, teamwork and social responsibility among its members.
The original scout troops in Georgia began to form at the beginning of the 20th century in the city of Batumi, but the modern scout movement became possible only after Georgia gained independence. The organization is a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, which allows Georgian scouts to participate in international events and exchange experiences with foreign colleagues.
The highest governing body is the General Assembly, held once every three years, where the National Council is elected. The organization's activities cover various regions of Georgia, including Tbilisi, Adjara, Kvemokartli, Shida Kartli, Imereti and Samegrelo.
A visit to Scouts of Georgia will be beneficial for young people who want to become part of an international youth movement, develop personal and social skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
