The human rights organization Rights Georgia, formerly known as Article 42 of the Constitution, is a non-governmental and apolitical organization founded on September 12, 1997. Its main goal is to promote the establishment of Georgia as a rule-of-law state through the introduction of international standards for the protection of human rights and raising public consciousness.
Rights Georgia operates in four cities: Tbilisi, Telavi, Chiatura and Ambrolauri. The central office is located in Tbilisi at the address: Akaki Gakhokidze No. 11a, 0160. The organization provides legal assistance and advice on various issues related to the protection of human rights.
During the existence of Rights Georgia, more than half a million people received legal assistance and advice. The organization is actively working to introduce international law into Georgian justice. She has successfully completed a number of important cases in local courts, as well as in the European Court of Human Rights and other international judicial bodies.
One of the key activities of Rights Georgia is the protection of victims of gender-based and domestic violence, as well as assistance to asylum seekers and stateless persons. Hotlines are available for these groups at +995577541655 and +995593111405, respectively.
