Georgian Harm Reduction Network
- Description
The Georgian Harm Reduction Network (GHRN), founded in 2006, is an association of 26 member organizations from 11 cities in Georgia, including Tbilisi. The network focuses on reducing harm associated with drug use by implementing programs and initiatives aimed at identifying and treating infections such as HIV, hepatitis and others, as well as providing counseling and disseminating information materials and tools for safe behavior.
The organization promotes the idea that drug use should be treated as a public health issue rather than a criminal problem, providing users with access to health care and harm reduction services. Through the network, members receive support for advocacy, community development and overdose prevention, and capacity building for member organizations.
Key areas of GHRN's work include advocating for evidence-based drug policy, ensuring the quality and availability of harm reduction services, and empowering its members. The organization promotes the exchange of best practices and the establishment of strategic partnerships.
The Georgian Harm Reduction Network is open to all interested parties, including people affected by drug use, community organizations and researchers. By visiting the organization's office in Tbilisi, you can receive information about current projects, initiatives and opportunities for cooperation or participation in programs.
