The Union of the Blind of Georgia in Tbilisi is a public organization founded in 1926 and re-registered in 1998, the purpose of which is the social protection of blind and visually impaired citizens. The organization promotes their physical, cultural and intellectual rehabilitation, as well as integration into society. Today the Union unites about 3,000 members and has 15 branches located in Tbilisi and other regions of Georgia.

As part of its activities, the Union of the Blind of Georgia established the JSC "Center for Culture, Education and Sports", on the basis of which folklore ensembles, a recording studio "Kodna", a library-record library, an editorial office and the monthly magazine "Light" operate. The union is also the founder of about 40 enterprises, which contributes to the labor rehabilitation of its members.

The organization actively cooperates with government agencies, non-governmental and international organizations to improve the socio-psychological and legal protection of its participants. The Georgian Union of the Blind is open to interaction with interested parties and provides support in cultural and everyday services, creating a culture of solidarity and respect among the blind.
