The Association of International Road Carriers of Georgia GIRCA is a non-profit association created in Tbilisi, which includes commercial organizations and individual entrepreneurs engaged in freight and passenger transportation by road. Founded on March 31, 1992, GIRCA currently unites more than 300 trucking companies.
The main goals of the GIRCA association are the development of Georgian and international road transport, promoting the improvement of infrastructure and modernization of vehicles, as well as protecting the interests of road carriers. The organization is also engaged in professional training of drivers and conducting research in the field of international road transport.
GIRCA performs the functions of a guarantee association on the territory of Georgia and has been a member of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) since 1992. The Association actively participates in the formation of transport, customs and tax legislation in cooperation with government agencies, and also represents the interests of its members at the international level.
The governing bodies of the association are the general meeting of members, the board and the executive secretariat. The highest leadership is the president of the association, Gia Tsipuria, and the general secretary, Nino Chkheidze.
