The Union of Georgian Medical Associations (UGMA), located in Tbilisi, is the largest association of healthcare professionals in the country. The main goal of the organization is to improve the quality of medical services in Georgia. The Union is actively involved in the development and implementation of protocols for the management of clinical cases, the implementation of training and advanced training programs for medical personnel, as well as participation in research projects.
Since 2012, UGMA has prepared about 400 clinical protocols and participated in the selection of medical personnel for about 30 hospitals. The Union plays a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of healthcare, conducting examinations for the Agency for State Regulation of Medical Activities and all leading insurance companies in Georgia. UGMA also actively considers clinical disputes and cases, mentioning them at the Professional Development Council.
The Union of Georgian Medical Associations is an important partner for healthcare professionals, insurance companies, hospitals and government agencies interested in improving the standards and safety of healthcare services in the country.
