Georgian Association of Guides
- Description
The Association of Georgian Guides (SAGA), founded in March 2010 in Tbilisi, is the leading non-governmental organization supporting professional tourist guides throughout the country. The association helps connect tour guides with employers and develops opportunities for direct booking and professional development. SAGA actively collaborates with national and international partners to implement industry standards and raise the profile of the guiding profession in Georgia.
SAGA is a member of several international organizations such as the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations and supports its members through training and development. One of the significant achievements was the holding of the 18th WFTGA Convention in Tbilisi, with the participation of specialists from 57 countries. The Association also actively cooperates with various partners to implement professional development projects in the regions of Georgia.
For travel guides or companies looking for qualified professionals, SAGA provides an open database through which guides can be easily contacted. The organization unites about 90 full members, more than 50 regional members and 20 national trainers, which makes it an important element of the tourism infrastructure of Georgia.
