In the very heart of Tbilisi, at st. Universitetskaya, 11, the Zoological Museum of Tbilisi State University is located, named after the outstanding scientist Ivane Javakhishvili. The museum, founded in 1946, is an integral part of Tbilisi State University. This historical museum attracts attention with its unique collection, which presents a variety of specimens of the animal world. Among them are coral polyps, butterflies, beetles, mollusks, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. The museum is not only a valuable resource for students and schoolchildren, but also offers all visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the wonderful world of living nature, study the internal structure of various species and become familiar with the features of embryonic development. The Zoological Museum is open daily, except Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00 to 16:00. It is important to note that entry is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with an ID card), people with disabilities (with a valid ID) and refugees. A visit to the museum becomes a fascinating and educational experience for all nature and history lovers.
