The Georgian Museum of Photography
- Description
The Georgian Museum of Photography, founded in 2001, is a unique virtual space available at www.photomuseum.org.ge. This private museum, focused on art, was established by the Georgian Association for the History of Photography in the Caucasus. Its collection contains more than 3,000 objects, reflecting the various stages of the development of photography in Georgia, starting from daguerreotypes and extending to the present. The project was implemented thanks to the support and funding of the Open Society Georgia Foundation in 2000. This virtual museum not only provides an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the rich history of photography in Georgia, but also serves as a platform for art lovers interested in unique aspects of the country's photographic heritage.
