Georgian Technical University Museum of Fossils

The Fossil Museum of the Georgian Technical University is located at: st. Kostava, 77 (geology building) in Tbilisi. It was founded in 1920 and is part of the Georgian Technical University. It is a historical collection containing well-organized and systematized educational and research materials on virtually all ores and minerals discovered in Georgia. It consists of two halls: the first contains typical samples of rocks, ores and minerals, reflecting various geological processes both from Georgia and from various countries of the world. The second hall displays models of the mine and antimony deposit in Zophito. Open daily, except Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 17:00. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members with a valid ID card, as well as for persons with disabilities upon presentation of appropriate ID and refugees.
